Polyamide 66 (PA-AC080) is a versatile engineering resin produced by PCR Plastics, offering a range of specific properties crucial for various applications.
Tensile Strength:
Polyamide 66 is known for its impressive tensile strength, typically ranging from 60 MPa to 80 MPa (8700 psi to 11600 psi) or higher. This strength makes it suitable for applications where structural integrity and load-bearing capabilities are critical.
Elongation at Break:
In addition to its high tensile strength, PCR Plastics Poyamide 66 Raw Material exhibits good flexibility and ductility, with an elongation at break typically ranging from 2% to 4%. This property allows the material to withstand bending and stretching forces without undergoing catastrophic failure, making it resilient in various dynamic environments.
Impact Resistance:
Polyamide 66 resins are valued for their excellent impact resistance. The Izod impact strength of Polyamide 66 typically ranges from 40 J/m to 80 J/m (0.75 ft-lb/in to 1.5 ft-lb/in) or more, depending on the specific grade and formulation. This impact resistance makes it suitable for applications subjected to sudden or repetitive mechanical shocks.
Thermal Properties:
Polyamide 66 exhibits favorable thermal properties, with a relatively high melting point ranging from 250°C to 265°C (480°F to 510°F). This heat resistance allows Polyamide 66 to maintain its structural integrity and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, expanding its utility in demanding thermal environments.
Chemical Resistance:
Another notable property of PCR Plastics Poyamide 66 Raw Material is its good resistance to many chemicals, oils, and solvents. While its exact chemical resistance can vary based on the specific formulation and additives, Polyamide 66 generally offers protection against corrosion and degradation from a wide range of substances.
Electrical Properties:
Polyamide 66 demonstrates good electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for electrical and electronic applications where maintaining electrical integrity and preventing short circuits are paramount.
Water Absorption:
It's important to consider Polyamide 66's tendency to absorb moisture, as excessive water absorption can affect its mechanical properties over time, especially in high-humidity environments. Proper design considerations and moisture-resistant formulations can mitigate this effect.
